No Good For Me

This is the review from the author of the Emerald Corrner:
This is similar to 'Heaven Knows' but the tune is different, not so rocky. She's in love with a married man and she fantasizes about being with him. He's committed to someone else and trying to make him hers would be a mistake. The perspective changes from "I see a home" to "you have a home" bringing her down to earth. Now she realizes he belongs to another girl "and someone else feels your strong embrace", and this girl is protected but she too needs that kind of protection. "Do you love her?", she asks, hoping that maybe there's still a chance for them. It's a very painful and dramatic song and the lyrics are so profound that you literally feel her pain. The pace is rather slow and Sharon's violin is the musical backbone of the song. The track fades out like a whisper in the middle of the dark night ...

Comment:
I personally really like the song I don't know why. I think it's because of the chorus. The vunerable feeling. :)

Interesting way of how the forensics scientists work, the labs and everything.

Untraceable

Alex Lovell makes people disappear. Turns out, she's not the only one.
Private investigator Alexandra Lovell uses computer skills and cunning to help clients drop off the radar and begin new lives in safety. Melanie Bess, desperate to escape her abusive cop husband, was one of those clients. But when Melanie vanishes for real, Alex fears the worst, and sets out to discover what happened. Using every resource she can get her hands on - including an elite team of forensic scientists known as the Tracers, and a jaded sexy Austin PD detective - Alex embarks on a mission to uncover the truth.
As far as homicide cop Nathan Deveraux is concerned, no body means no case. But as much as he want to believe that Alex's hunch about Melanie's murder is wrong, his instincts - and their visceral attraction - won't let him walk away. As a grim picture of what really happened begins to emerge, Nathan realizes this investigation runs deeper than they could ever have guesses. And each step nearer the truth puts Alex in danger of being the next to disappear...
An interesting plot. The betrayals that happen at the end of the story are quite shocking. Not only is Melanie's husband a responsible, Nathan's friend and his ex-wife are also in the scheme.

Black Wings

As an angel of death, Madeline Black is responsible for escorting the souls of the dearly departed to the afterlife. It's a 24/7 job with a lousy benefits package.
Maddy's position may come with magical abilities and an impressive wingspan, but it doesn't pay the bills. And then there are her infuriating boss, tenant woes, and a cranky, popcorn-loving gargoyle to contend with.
Thinks start looking up, though, when tall, dark, and handsome Gabriel Angeloscuro agrees to rent the empty apartment in Maddy's building. It's probably just a coincidence that as soon as he moves in, demons appear on the front lawn. but when an unholy monster is unleashed upon the streets of Chicago, Maddy discovers powers she never knew she possessed. Powers linked to a family legacy of tarnished halos.
Power that place her directly between the light of Heaven and the fires of Hell.
It's um....interesting. Really confusing, but interesting. Helped me survive through my boredom during 30 Hour Famine where we basically don't eat anything for 30 Hours. Helped passed time...yeah.

Danger in the Shadows

The bureau owns her.
Under FBI protection, Sara isn't even Sara Walsh anymore; her name is what they tell her. Her home is where they send her. And she's never there for long.
A stranger owns her.
Though faceless, he haunts Sara's dreams. He's the man who abducted her as a child and continues to stalk her. He's the one who's determined to end their connection - and Sara's life.
But mostly, fear owns her.
Which makes falling in love with a man as high-profile as Adam Black is a bad idea. And a dangerous one. For both of them. The world is an unsafe place for love - and certainly an unsafe place for the children Adam longs for. No one knows that better than Sara and she can't take the risk...
But if she doesn't, her life will never be her own. Where will she find the courage to name her terror and face her fear?
This is a really really really good story. I love how Dee Henderson weaves God's Word into the plot. One of the most remarkable parts of the story is when Adam and Sara are talking and she tells him, "Adam, God never gives more than I can handle." It's really hard to accept that in the world today, when our problems come we're often like why did God do this, but he does it because he knows that we can handle it.  Sara's life is horrifying, it's hard to imagine having the FBI protecting you your entire life after you've been kidnapped by some crazy lunatic. Especially if you loose your twin in the process. Twins are always close.  (Well...most of the time.) It's a really great book that tell you how God plays a role in your life.

Hidden Summit

SOMETIMES ROMANCE IS HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT...
When Connor Danson becomes an unwitting witness to a violent crime, he is forced to leave Sacramento and keep a low profile until the trial is over. He arrives in the tiny mountain town of Virgin River with a chip in his shoulder and an ache in his heart.
Leslie Petruso didn't want to leave her hometown either. But she can't stand another minute of listening to her ex-husband tell everyone that his new wife and impending fatherhood are the best things that ever happened to him. Virgin River may not be home, but it's a place where she can be anonymous.
Neither Connor or Leslie is remotely interested in starting a new relationship...until they meet one another. Even they can't deny they have a lot in common - broken hearts notwithstanding. And in Virgin River, no one can stay hidden away from life and love for very long...
Not a bad book. The whole trial case that Connor is going through is really confusing. Leslie and her ex- husband's relationship is hilarious. He's just an idiot. Falls in love with a big time lawyer, divorces Leslie and get married to her. Gets the lawyer pregnant, runs for city council, thinks the whole world is about him, gets in a fight with his new wife and decides that Leslie is his one true soul mate. Seriously, what a jerk. A vlaca if you must. (That means moron in Greek.)  My most favorite part in this book is when the vlaca visits Leslie in Virgin River and tells her that he wants to marry her again. Her response, shoot at him with a fire extinguisher and turns him into a little white snowman!  Can't wait to do that to someone I hate in the future. No, not hate, I'm not allowed to hate, I meant dislike with a strong passion.

One Last Breath

He's and Ex-Cop. She's an Ex-Wife. And they're both out for revenge on the same man...
When pampered former cheerleader Feenie Malone takes a job writing fluff pieces for her South Texas paper, she has no idea she's about to stumble into a juicy news story that could launch her career - if it doesn't get her killed first. Almost as soon as she breaks out her press pass, she crosses paths with Marco Juarez, the macho PI obsessed with solving his sister's murder. The information he has might be the perfect lead - but his dangerously sexy looks could be deadly distraction.
Juarez has zero patience for reporters, especially mouthy blond ones. But with the evidence pointing to Feenie's ex-husband, Marco thinks she could be useful. Confident he can keep her on a tight leash, he lets her in on his investigation. He quickly discovers he's underestimated his new partner, as well as the danger they both face. Now he must protect her - to the very last breath.
Big suspense thrill!  Hehe, police car...When Feenie found out her husband was cheating on her and she went on a rampage,  it was seriously hilarious. She shot all his golf trophies and threw all his prized possessions in the pool. Go Feenie!  The plot of the story was really entertaining, Marco seems like such a macho person and Feenie's all like "yeah right" in his face, but there an attraction they can't deny. Feenie's just been lied to way too many times that she finds it hard to trust anyone. Her best friend Celie is also going through a lot. Her husband turns out to be a co-worker to Feenie's idiot husband and things just aren't going well.  Still, it was a good book!

Tall Dark and Deadly

She was a high-powered attorney with beauty, brains, and a brand-new dream house. Men found her irresistible. Women called her out-of-control. And when Marnie Newcastle disappeared one fateful night, everyone assumed she'd run off for a wild weekend of self-indulgent pleasure.
But Samantha Miller suspected the worst. A close friend and neighbor, Samantha knew that Marnie's life wasn't as perfect as it seemed. Her past was haunted by abuse; her nights, fired by passion. So many men. So many suspects. And Samantha was determined to meet them face-to-face: The lawyer. The homicide cop. The contractor. And the gorgeous rock star who aroused more desire than suspicion....
With a lineup like this, Samantha would either fall in love -- or get herself killed.
The suspense in this story is really tense. You don't know who to trust and everyone around you is freaking out because somehow has disappeared. It was a bit hilarious when Sam and Rowan first met each other. The picture was like crystal clear: disbelief on both of their faces. [O.O]  Some parts of the story were like REALLY scary and makes you want to check that every door is locked and every window is sealed tight. That was the tense level of the book. The actual culprit was really astounding! Joe Taylor, the tall, dark, and handsome gym friend of Sam. Tall, dark, and deadly to be precise. So...should we not fall for every tall, dark, and handsome guy?  (The font's small...)

Finding Ivy and Hunting Diana

Finding Ivy: Ivy doesn’t remember anything about her life before she woke up in the hospital at the age of six. She is sixteen now and one memory keeps reoccurring in her dreams. She chooses to ignore it until things start to happen that makes her question her true identity and who or what she really is.
Hunting Diana: (Sequel to Finding Ivy) After finally getting all four of the elementals together, the war seems to be tilting in their favor. Ivy only has one thing she feels she needs to do in order to end it all. Hunt down her mother and destroy her, but Ivy knows from experience that it's never as easy as it seems. Lies, secrets, and people from the past cause everything to be complicated.
Finding Ivy and Hunting Diana
This is seriously one amazing story. Ivy, Aaron, Clay, and Blayze are simply just awesome. Ivy is amazing, Aaron is protective which makes him so cute, Clay is the goofy, annoying, and hilarious one, and Blayze is the one who stares at Clay and gives him the evil eye even though she loves everything about him. It's really shocking when you read the first few parts of Finding Ivy, the betrayals of friends and the discovery of enemies that are acutally protectors. It's really amazing, (repettion again).
